Every status tells a real story
Rarity here isn't invented. Every species carries its real status on the IUCN Red List — from Least Concern to Critically Endangered, Extinct in the Wild and Extinct. That status decides how rare each card is.
And every level matters. “Least Concern” animals are doing well but still watched; “Near Threatened” and “Vulnerable” ones are quietly losing ground; far too many are already Endangered, or gone for good — almost always because of us. The game even gathers species that now survive only in captivity, or that the planet has lost entirely.
It's a small way to put the spotlight on a natural world that needs it — giving a face to species you might otherwise never meet.
