Games came first. I started coding at 15 to build them — little black-and-white games in C — and even my final engineering project was my own take on a game I loved. My career went another way, but making games stayed the thing I always came back to.
For years it could only be a hobby. Something like Wildlife Collection — over 2,600 realistic, hand-reviewed animal illustrations — was impossible for one person to draw or afford. Then AI changed the maths, and since late 2023 I've finally built the worlds I'd only imagined, on my own.
And they're worlds I love. I'm fascinated by science and nature — biology, astronomy, palaeontology — and I photograph birds in my spare time. These games bring those passions together. The first took shape on the other side of the planet, during three months living in Asia on our honeymoon.
One last piece of home: in January 2020 we adopted Mara, our dog, from a local shelter — she arrived in a heartbreaking state and quickly became family. The studio carries her name, and you'll find her on everything we make. 🐾
